Add a Korean stamp image to a PDF

Check how your PDF app inserts stamp images. Learn the difference between Acrobat image tools, Reader’s PDF-only custom stamps and a verified signing workflow.

The essentials in three steps

  1. First check whether the PDF app supports image insertion; some are viewers only.
  2. Acrobat Reader creates custom stamps from PDF files only; do not assume it accepts a PNG directly.
  3. Placing an image is different from a signature workflow with identity and change verification.

1Before you start: original PNG and a document copy

  • Use Save PNG on the result page, not a screenshot of the watermarked preview.
  • Work on a copy. Check your authority to use the stamp and the file format required by the recipient.
  • If the signature area contains (인), use it as the placement reference and keep the name and required text legible.

2Prepare the PNG and PDF

Download your PNG and open the PDF in an app that supports editing. Not every PDF viewer allows image insertion.

3Insert as an image or custom stamp

Find Add Image, signature image or Custom Stamp and select your PNG. Menu names and supported formats vary by product and version. Consult that app’s help if needed.

4Reopen the saved document

Keep proportions, place the stamp and save a copy. Reopen it to check the result. Adding a stamp image does not itself verify identity or create a certified electronic signature.

Resize proportionally to fit the signature area.

5Acrobat or Reader: which feature fits?

In Acrobat with image editing, look for Edit → Image. Adobe documents PDF-only input for creating custom stamps in Reader. A PNG missing from the file picker may be a format restriction, not an error.

If using a signature-image tool or converting PNG to PDF, check that transparency survives. Do not upload sensitive documents to arbitrary converters; use authorised local tools or an approved workflow.

6Check before sending

  • Close and reopen the saved document to check that the image is included.
  • Check for clipping at page or table edges and legibility of the name and (인) beneath the stamp.
  • If submitting a PDF or printout, check size, position and transparency in that final output too.

Questions about this guide

Reader does not list my PNG. Why?

Custom stamp creation in Reader accepts PDF only. Image insertion, signature images and custom stamps are different features; consult the app’s help.

Does adding the PNG protect against tampering?

No. The image alone verifies neither document changes nor identity. Use the recipient’s required electronic-signature process when needed.

Can I add it to an already signed PDF?

It may affect signature validation or document permissions. Keep the original and ask the issuer or recipient first.
