Place a Korean stamp in Microsoft Word
Place a transparent stamp PNG over a Word signature area. Check text wrapping, anchors, proportions, PDF output and the limits of Word for the web.

The essentials in three steps
- Insert the picture and use In Front of Text or Behind Text for placement over the signature area.
- Moving with text and fixing to the page behave differently when the document changes.
- Word web, mobile and desktop do not offer identical layout controls.
1Before you start: original PNG and a document copy
- Use Save PNG on the result page, not a screenshot of the watermarked preview.
- Work on a copy. Check your authority to use the stamp and the file format required by the recipient.
- If the signature area contains (인), use it as the placement reference and keep the name and required text legible.
2Insert the PNG
Choose Insert → Pictures and select your downloaded stamp PNG. Use the original file to retain transparency.
3Choose text wrapping
In Layout Options, choose In Front of Text or Behind Text and move the stamp to the signature area. Compare both if you want the document text to remain prominent.
4Check size and PDF output
Keep the aspect ratio in picture size settings. Export to PDF and check that the stamp is not clipped. Menus may differ between apps and versions.
15–20 mm5If the stamp moves or controls are missing
- If editing text moves the stamp, check its anchor and Move with text / Fix position on page. A fixed position does not guarantee the same result on a different page size.
- If Word for the web cannot move an existing wrapped picture, desktop Word may be needed. Regenerating the PNG will not add missing layout controls.
6Check before sending
- Close and reopen the saved document to check that the image is included.
- Check for clipping at page or table edges and legibility of the name and (인) beneath the stamp.
- If submitting a PDF or printout, check size, position and transparency in that final output too.
Questions about this guide
The picture behaves like a character. Why?
Check In Line with Text. Floating placement needs a wrapping option such as In Front of / Behind Text, where supported.
Can I submit the Word file itself?
Follow the recipient’s format requirements. Check any PDF export; if Word is requested, send the document with the picture embedded.
Can I reduce only its width?
Changing one axis distorts circles and lettering. Keep proportions unless distortion is intentional.
