Add a Korean stamp to an HWP document

1Before you start: original PNG and a document copy

• Use Save PNG on the result page, not a screenshot of the watermarked preview.
• Work on a copy. Check your authority to use the stamp and the file format required by the recipient.
• If the signature area contains (인), use it as the placement reference and keep the name and required text legible.

2Insert the original PNG

Open your document in Hancom HWP and choose Input → Picture. Select the PNG downloaded from the result page, not a screenshot of the preview. Check that the image is embedded before sharing the document.

3Set how the image sits with text

Select the stamp and open Object Properties. Turn off “Treat as character”. Choose Behind text to keep document text above the stamp, or In front of text to place the stamp above it. Check that tables and paragraphs do not move. Menu names vary by version.

4Resize and check the finished document

Keep the aspect ratio locked and resize to fit the signature area. A width of 15–20 mm can be a starting point, not an official seal specification. Check placement and transparency after exporting to PDF and make a test print if needed.

5If the table moves or the stamp is hard to select

• If a row grows taller, check Treat as character and text layout before changing cell dimensions.
• If a stamp behind text is hard to select, use the app’s object-selection tools or undo the last placement.
• An actual white rectangle calls for checking the source file and transparency guide, not just stacking order.

6Check before sending

• Close and reopen the saved document to check that the image is included.
• Check for clipping at page or table edges and legibility of the name and (인) beneath the stamp.
• If submitting a PDF or printout, check size, position and transparency in that final output too.
